Long Run Time / Inefficient Operation
Freezer runs continuously and rarely shuts off, though it may still reach low temperatures.

Possible Causes
Door gasket leaking warm air, Dirty condenser coils, Freezer located in a very hot environment, Internal air leaks around the liner or drain plug
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before cleaning or adjusting components.
Steps:
- Inspect door gasket: Close a sheet of paper in the door at several points. If it pulls out easily, the gasket may be leaking. Replace the gasket if cracked or deformed.
- Clean condenser: Vacuum and brush dust from the condenser coils and fan area.
- Check location: Ensure the freezer has adequate clearance around it and is not in direct sunlight or next to heat sources.
- Check drain plug and cabinet seams: Make sure the drain plug (if present) is fully seated and that there are no gaps in the liner or cabinet.
- Monitor: After corrections, allow 24 hours and observe run time. If it still runs nearly nonstop with correct temperature, have a technician check system efficiency.
