Possible Causes
Persistent ignition failure (igniter, gas valve, flame sensor issues), Control board lockout timer expired, Unresolved combustion air or venting problem
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Multiple failed ignition attempts can lead to the accumulation of unburned gas. If you smell gas, shut off the gas supply and ventilate the area immediately.
Steps:
- Reset lockout: Turn off power to the Atlantic furnace for at least 30 seconds, then restore power. This clears the lockout on most models.
- Observe a start attempt: Call for heat and and observe the full sequence: inducer start, pressure switch close, igniter glow, gas valve click, flame ignition, and flame sensing. Note at which step it fails.
- Refer to specific fault: Based on the failure step, follow the relevant procedures for igniter, gas valve, flame sensor, or venting issues (see E01–E04, E07).
Note: If E14 returns after a reset and basic checks, a professional diagnosis is recommended.
