Possible Causes
Pressure switch contacts welded closed, Shorted pressure switch wiring, Pressure switch misadjusted, Control board sensing fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before testing the pressure switch.
- 1. Inspect tubing and wiring: Ensure the pressure switch tubing is properly connected and not pinched. Check that the switch wires are not shorted together.
- 2. Tap the switch: With power off, gently tap the pressure switch body with a screwdriver handle to free any stuck contacts.
- 3. Basic continuity check: With no call for heat and inducer off, the pressure switch should be open. If you have a multimeter and are qualified, check for continuity across the switch. If it reads closed, the switch is stuck and should be replaced.
- 4. Replacement: Install a Frigidaire-approved pressure switch with the same rating. Do not substitute different pressure ratings.
- 5. If problem persists: If a new switch behaves the same, the control board may be misreading the circuit and require replacement.
