Possible Causes
Condensate pipe run externally without insulation, Insufficient pipe diameter, Long horizontal runs exposed to cold
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the boiler before working on the condensate pipe. Take care on icy surfaces.
Steps:
- Thaw pipe: Pour warm (not boiling) water along the length of the external condensate pipe to melt ice. Do not use open flames.
- Reset boiler: Once thawed, reset the Intergas boiler and check for normal operation.
- Prevent recurrence: Insulate the external condensate pipe and, if possible, increase its diameter and reduce external runs as per Intergas and local guidelines.
