Possible Causes

Tripped circuit breaker, Faulty furnace service switch, Open door safety switch, Loose line voltage wiring at junction box

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Use a non-contact voltage tester and turn OFF the breaker before opening any electrical boxes.

  • Check breaker and switch: Confirm the furnace breaker is ON and the service switch near the furnace is in the ON position.
  • Door switch: Ensure the blower door is fully closed and engaging the door switch. Some Kelvinator furnaces will be completely dead if the door is not properly seated.
  • Inspect junction box: With power OFF, open the furnace junction box and check for loose wire nuts or burned connections. Tighten as needed.
  • If still dead: If there is confirmed 120 VAC to the furnace but the control board LED is off, the board or internal fuse may have failed and should be checked by a technician.
