Possible Causes

Failed light relay on control board, Shorted light socket or wiring, Incorrect bulb type drawing excessive current, Damaged triac or transistor driver

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power before touching any light fittings or internal wiring.

Steps to fix courtesy light issues:

  • 1. Check bulb type: Use only the bulb type and wattage specified in the Gliderol manual (often a low‑wattage LED or incandescent). Over‑wattage bulbs can damage the light circuit.
  • 2. Inspect lamp holder: Remove the bulb and inspect the socket for heat damage, corrosion, or loose contacts. Replace the socket if burnt.
  • 3. Test without bulb: Remove the bulb and power the opener. If E11 clears and the opener works, the bulb or socket may be shorted.
  • 4. Listen for relay click: When operating the door, listen for a click from the control board. No click may indicate a failed relay or driver.

If the light output remains stuck on or off regardless of bulb and socket condition, the control board’s light relay or triac is faulty. Replace the control board or have it repaired by an electronics specialist familiar with Gliderol boards.
