Remote controls have very short range or work only when very close to the Ryobi opener.

Safety first: Do not climb or work near the opener while it is operating.

• 1. Replace remote batteries: Install fresh batteries in all Ryobi remotes and retest range.
• 2. Adjust antenna: Ensure the opener’s antenna wire hangs straight down and is not wrapped around metal brackets or tucked inside the housing.
• 3. Reduce interference: Move or unplug nearby RF devices (LED shop lights, routers, etc.) one at a time to see if range improves.
• 4. Test from different angles: Try operating the remote from various positions outside the garage to identify dead spots caused by metal doors or structures.
• 5. If still poor: Persistent short range with a good antenna and batteries suggests an internal RF receiver issue; the logic board may need replacement.
