Possible Causes
Broken low-voltage cable, Loose terminal screws at the opener, Defective wall station electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before working on low-voltage terminals.
- 1. Check connections: Tighten the wall control wires at the opener terminals and at the wall station.
- 2. Test continuity: Use a multimeter to check the continuity of the cable between the opener and the wall station. Replace the cable if open.
- 3. Bypass test: Momentarily short the wall control terminals at the opener with a jumper. If the door operates, the wall station or wiring is faulty.
- 4. Replace wall station: Install a new Sommer wall control if the wiring is good but the station is dead.
