Possible Causes
Slightly worn impeller lug pivots, Loose mounting ring tabs, Minor play in the grinding plate on the motor shaft, Loose internal baffle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn OFF power at the breaker before inspecting.
- Step 1 – Inspect grinding chamber: Using a light, check that the impeller lugs are intact and swing freely. Some clicking at startup can be normal.
- Step 2 – Check mounting ring: Ensure the Astracast mounting ring is fully locked and that the screws are tight.
- Step 3 – Listen carefully: Briefly run the unit with water and listen. If the noise is minor and occurs only at startup/shutdown, it may be normal operation.
- Step 4 – Monitor over time: If the noise worsens or is accompanied by vibration, consider replacing the unit.
Warning: Sudden changes in noise level can indicate developing mechanical failure; investigate promptly.
