The garbage disposal will not turn on, but a faint click is heard from the unit when the switch is operated.

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and confirm the unit is de-energized.

• Free the flywheel: Insert the Rangemaster-supplied hex key into the base socket and work it back and forth to free the impeller plate. Do not use excessive force.
• Remove obstructions: From above, use pliers to remove any visible foreign objects.
• Reset and test: Press the reset button, restore power, and test briefly with water. If the click persists without rotation, the motor may be damaged.
• Do not repeatedly energize: Repeated attempts can overheat the motor. If freeing the flywheel does not restore normal operation, plan for replacement.
