Possible Causes
Spa set to Economy or Energy-Saving mode, Incorrect filter/heating cycle programming, User misunderstanding of mode settings, Topside control stuck in EC mode
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: EC is typically a mode indicator, not a fault, on many Lifesmart control systems.
- Check user manual: Refer to the Lifesmart spa manual for your specific model to understand the behavior of EC/Economy mode.
- Change mode: Use the topside control panel to switch from EC/Economy to Standard or Ready mode (often by pressing a combination like Temp + Light or the Mode button).
- Verify filter cycles: Ensure the programmed filter cycles are appropriate. In Economy mode, heating may only occur during filter cycles.
- Panel reset: If the panel is unresponsive, power cycle the spa at the GFCI breaker and re-enter the settings.
