Possible Causes
Stuck or shorted keypad button, Moisture intrusion into control panel, Damaged control panel PCB, Loose ribbon cable between keypad and main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working on the control panel.
- Dry the panel: If the panel is damp from cleaning or condensation, allow it to dry completely for several hours with the unit unplugged.
- Inspect buttons: Check for physically stuck buttons. Gently work them to free any that are jammed.
- Open control panel: Remove screws securing the top/front bezel and carefully lift off to expose the keypad PCB and ribbon cable.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Disconnect and reconnect the cable between the keypad and main board, ensuring it is fully inserted and locked.
- Clean contacts: If corrosion is visible, lightly clean with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush, then let dry.
- Replace control panel PCB: If F1 persists, replace the "Midea control panel / keypad board" for your model.
