Possible Causes
Low refrigerant charge due to leak, blocked capillary tube, faulty pressure or temperature sensor, restricted airflow across coils
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Refrigerant systems are sealed and should only be serviced by certified technicians.
- Clean filter and coils: Remove and clean the air filter. Vacuum dust from the condenser and evaporator coils if accessible.
- Check room temperature: Ensure the room is within the operating range (typically above 5–10°C). Very low temperatures can cause EC-like behavior.
- Observe operation: After cleaning and restarting, check if the evaporator coil gets evenly cool and slightly damp. If only part of the coil cools or it ices quickly, there may be a refrigerant issue.
- If EC persists: Do not attempt to open the sealed system. Contact a qualified refrigeration technician or Rowenta service center for diagnosis and possible recharge or coil replacement.
