Possible Causes

Extremely high room humidity, faulty humidity sensor stuck at a high reading, sensor contaminated by water droplets, sensor wiring shorted.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit if you need to access the sensor.

Steps:

  • Ventilate room: Open windows or use additional ventilation to reduce extreme humidity.
  • Inspect humidity sensor: Locate the sensor behind the front grille. Ensure it is not wet or covered in condensation. Allow it to dry completely.
  • Clean sensor area: Gently clean dust from the sensor housing with a soft brush.
  • Replace sensor: If HI persists in normal conditions, replace the Sencor humidity sensor module.

Tip: Avoid placing the unit directly next to sources of steam (showers, kettles) which can saturate the sensor.
