Possible Causes
Seized fan motor, Obstructed blower wheel, Failed fan motor capacitor (if separate), Faulty fan driver circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before touching the fan or internal components.
- Check for obstructions: Remove the front grille and filter. Look for debris, plastic bags, or ice blocking the fan blades or blower wheel. Remove any obstruction.
- Spin test: Gently spin the fan blade or blower wheel by hand. It should rotate freely. If it is stiff or jammed, the motor bearings may be failing.
- Inspect wiring: Access the fan motor area and check the wiring harness and connectors for damage or loose plugs.
- Capacitor check (if equipped): Some TCL dehumidifiers use a separate capacitor for the fan motor. Inspect for bulging or leaks and test with a multimeter. Replace if defective.
- Replace fan motor: If the motor is noisy, seized, or does not run even with proper voltage, replace the fan motor assembly with a TCL-compatible part. Transfer the fan blade or blower wheel to the new motor and secure it firmly.
- Main board diagnosis: If the motor and capacitor test good but the fan never receives power, the main PCB fan driver may be faulty and require replacement.
