Mold or mildew in the water bucket, Slime buildup in the drain channel, Dust and moisture on the evaporator coil, Dirty air filter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Steps:
- Clean bucket: Empty and wash the water bucket with warm, soapy water. Disinfect with a diluted bleach solution (1 tbsp bleach per gallon of water), rinse thoroughly, and dry.
- Clean filter: Wash the air filter and let it dry completely.
- Coil cleaning: With the power off, spray a non-rinse evaporator coil cleaner (safe for aluminum) onto the evaporator coil. Allow it to work per product instructions.
- Drain channel: Clean the drain outlet and channel with a small brush and disinfectant.
- Run on fan-only: After cleaning, run the unit in fan-only mode for 30–60 minutes to help dry internal surfaces.
