Possible Causes
Loose wiring harness between display PCB and main PCB, Corroded or oxidized connector pins, Damaged communication cable, Faulty display/control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before opening the control panel or accessing internal boards.
Steps to resolve E6:
- Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then plug back in. Sometimes E6 is triggered by a transient glitch.
- Access control panel: Remove the screws securing the top or front control panel. Carefully lift it to expose the display board and wiring.
- Check harness connections: Locate the multi-pin cable connecting the display board to the main control board. Disconnect and reconnect both ends to ensure a solid connection.
- Inspect for damage: Look for pinched, cut, or burned wires. Check connectors for corrosion or bent pins.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the panel, plug in, and test. If E6 remains, one of the boards may need replacement.
Note: Board-level diagnosis and replacement are best handled by an experienced appliance technician.
