Possible Causes
Hard water with high mineral content, dirty internal reservoir, old or saturated external water filter, scale buildup on the evaporator surface.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and turn off the water supply before cleaning.
- 1. Use filtered water:
- If possible, connect the Beko ice maker to a cold water line with a quality filter.
- Replace any external filter cartridges according to manufacturer schedule.
- 2. Clean the reservoir and bin:
- Empty the ice bin and discard cloudy ice.
- Remove the reservoir (if accessible) and wash with warm water and mild detergent.
- Rinse thoroughly to remove soap residue.
- 3. Descale the evaporator:
- Run a cleaning/descaling cycle using Beko-approved descaler.
- Follow the manual to ensure all solution is flushed before making ice again.
- 4. Flush the system:
- Discard the first 2–3 batches of ice after cleaning to ensure purity.
