Possible Causes

Hard water with high mineral content, dirty internal reservoir, old or saturated external water filter, scale buildup on the evaporator surface.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and turn off the water supply before cleaning.

  • 1. Use filtered water:
    • If possible, connect the Beko ice maker to a cold water line with a quality filter.
    • Replace any external filter cartridges according to manufacturer schedule.
  • 2. Clean the reservoir and bin:
    • Empty the ice bin and discard cloudy ice.
    • Remove the reservoir (if accessible) and wash with warm water and mild detergent.
    • Rinse thoroughly to remove soap residue.
  • 3. Descale the evaporator:
    • Run a cleaning/descaling cycle using Beko-approved descaler.
    • Follow the manual to ensure all solution is flushed before making ice again.
  • 4. Flush the system:
    • Discard the first 2–3 batches of ice after cleaning to ensure purity.
