EdgeStar ice maker makes ice very slowly; the bin never fills, and ice cycles take much longer than normal.

Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning or removing panels.

• Clean condenser coils: Access the rear or bottom of the unit and thoroughly vacuum and brush the condenser coils to remove dust and lint.
• Verify fan operation: Plug the unit back in and confirm that the condenser fan starts whenever the compressor runs. Replace the fan motor if it is slow, noisy, or intermittent.
• Improve ventilation: Ensure the EdgeStar ice maker has the recommended clearance on all sides and is not installed in a closed cabinet without proper venting.
• Check room temperature: Extremely hot rooms can reduce ice output. If possible, relocate the unit or improve room cooling.
