Possible Causes

Failed touchpad membrane, Loose UI ribbon cable, Moisture intrusion behind the control panel, Faulty user interface board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Disconnect power before removing the control panel or touching electronic boards.

  • Dry the panel: If condensation or liquid spills have occurred, allow the control area to dry completely. Do not use heat guns directly on plastic.
  • Check ribbon cable: Remove the front bezel and inspect the flat ribbon cable between the touchpad and main control. Reseat both ends firmly.
  • Inspect for corrosion: Look for green or white corrosion on connectors or the UI board. Clean lightly with electronic contact cleaner if corrosion is minor; replace the component if severe.
  • Test button response: After reassembly, restore power and test each button. If some or all buttons remain unresponsive, replace the user interface/touchpad assembly with an original Electrolux OEM part.
