Possible Causes
Dirty or blocked ice full infrared sensor, Misaligned sensor bracket, Failed ice full sensor board, Reflective surfaces or condensation interfering with the sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before cleaning or adjusting sensors.
Steps to resolve ICE_FULL:
- 1. Empty and dry the basket: Remove the ice basket and dry any excess moisture from the bin area.
- 2. Clean sensor windows: Locate the ice full sensors on each side of the bin opening. Gently clean the lenses with a soft cloth and mild soap solution, then dry completely.
- 3. Check for condensation: If heavy condensation is present on the sensor windows, allow the unit to sit unplugged with the lid open until dry. Improve room ventilation if humidity is high.
- 4. Verify alignment: Ensure both sensor modules are firmly mounted and directly facing each other. Adjust brackets if they have been bent.
- 5. Inspect wiring: Check the sensor harness for damage and reseat the connector on the main PCB.
- 6. Replace the sensor assembly: If the ICE_FULL indication remains stuck despite cleaning and alignment, replace the HOMCOM ice full sensor assembly.
Note: Do not tape over or bypass the sensor; this can cause overfilling and mechanical jams.
