Possible Causes
Aging LED/LCD display, loose display ribbon cable, low voltage from the control board, moisture damage to the display PCB.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker before removing the control panel.
- 1. Reseat display cable: Remove the front panel and reseat the ribbon cable between the display and the main PCB.
- 2. Inspect for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or corrosion on the display board. Dry thoroughly and clean light corrosion.
- 3. Measure supply voltage: With caution and the unit powered, verify that the display is receiving the correct low voltage from the main PCB. If the voltage is low, suspect the main PCB.
- 4. Replace display: If the display remains dim or has missing segments, replace the display PCB or the entire user interface assembly.
