Possible Causes
Freezer temperature too high, Dirty condenser coils, Weak evaporator fan, Door gaskets leaking warm air.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning coils or working near fans.
- Check temperatures: Use a thermometer to verify freezer is at 0°F (-18°C) and fresh food at 37–40°F (3–4°C). Adjust settings if needed.
- Clean condenser coils: Pull the unit away from the wall and vacuum dust from the rear or bottom condenser coils to improve cooling efficiency.
- Inspect door gaskets: Check for torn or warped gaskets around doors. Replace if they do not seal tightly.
- Verify fan operation: Ensure both condenser and evaporator fans run when the compressor is on. Replace any weak or non-running fan motors.
- Allow time: After corrections, allow 24–48 hours for ice production to normalize.
