How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the power and close the water supply valve. Have towels ready for any residual water.
Steps:
- Check the water supply: Verify that the shutoff valve is fully open and that there are no kinks in the supply line. Confirm adequate water pressure.
- Clean the inlet screen: Disconnect the water line at the inlet valve on the Manitowoc unit. Remove and clean the small screen filter inside the valve using a brush and water.
- Test the valve coil: With a multimeter, check the resistance of the water inlet valve coil. An open coil indicates a failed valve that must be replaced.
- Observe fill behavior: After reassembly and restoring power, watch the fill cycle. If the valve does not open or does not shut off, replace the water inlet valve.
Note: If the valve is working but the machine still misreads the water level, inspect the water level probe or sensor as well.
