• Complete cleaning cycle: Follow the manual to properly complete the cleaning and rinse steps. Some models require a long press of a specific button.
• Hard reset: Unplug the unit for 15–30 minutes, then plug it back in and attempt to select ice-making mode.
• Check buttons: Ensure the mode button is not stuck or damaged.
• Sensor check: Verify that the water reservoir is empty or filled as required at the end of cleaning; a stuck float may prevent a mode change.
• Control replacement: If the unit remains locked in cleaning mode, the control board or user interface (UI) may need replacement.
