Stale water in supply line, Dirty ice bin, Mold or biofilm on ice chute, Old or contaminated external water filter.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and turn off the water supply if removing components.
- Discard old ice: Empty the ice bin completely and discard all existing ice.
- Clean bin and chute: Wash the ice bin and chute with warm water and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry before reinstalling.
- Flush water line: Disconnect the supply line at the back and flush several liters of water into a bucket to clear stagnant water.
- Replace filter: If an external filter is used, replace it according to schedule or sooner if taste issues occur.
- Run several batches: Allow the ice maker to produce and discard 2–3 full bins of ice before judging taste again.
Note: Avoid using harsh chemicals or scented cleaners inside the ice compartment.
