Safety: Unplug the unit. Wear gloves if dealing with mold or strong cleaners.
Steps:
- 1. Manual cleaning: Remove the ice basket and any removable parts. Scrub the reservoir, water tray, and basket with warm soapy water and a soft brush.
- 2. Descale: Run a descaling cycle with an appropriate descaler to remove limescale from the evaporator and water paths.
- 3. Disinfect: After descaling, rinse thoroughly and run a cycle with a mild food-safe sanitizer if recommended by Princess.
- 4. Maintenance schedule: Clean the unit at least once a month, or more often in hard water areas.
