Possible Causes
Tripped circuit breaker, Loose power cord connection, Failed power outlet, Blown internal fuse on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Before opening any panels, verify the circuit is de-energized if you will be working on wiring. Use a non-contact voltage tester.
- Step 1 – Check household breaker: Locate the dedicated breaker for the ice maker and reset it if tripped. If it trips again immediately, stop and call a qualified technician.
- Step 2 – Test outlet: Plug a lamp or small appliance into the outlet serving the Viking ice maker to confirm it has power. If dead, contact an electrician.
- Step 3 – Inspect power cord: Pull the unit out carefully and check the cord for cuts, burns, or crushed sections. Ensure the plug is fully seated.
- Step 4 – Internal fuse check: If comfortable and with power disconnected, remove the control panel and inspect the main control board for an onboard fuse. Test with a multimeter and replace only with the exact same rating if blown.
If the unit still shows no signs of life after these checks, the main control board or internal wiring may be faulty and should be diagnosed by a professional.
