Possible Causes
Aging magnetron, low household voltage, failing high-voltage capacitor, partially shorted diode
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
User Checks:
- Test with 1 cup of water at room temperature: run on HIGH for 2 minutes. The water should be very hot or boiling. If only lukewarm, the output is low.
- Ensure you are not using oversized or very thick containers that absorb microwave energy.
- Confirm the microwave is set to 100% power and not a reduced power level.
If heating remains weak, the magnetron or high-voltage components are likely degrading. Internal high-voltage diagnosis and replacement should be performed by a professional.
