Possible Causes

Child lock feature enabled via keypad, Stuck key causing the lock sequence, Control board misinterpretation of key presses

Safety: No internal repair is needed for this condition in most cases.

Disable child lock:

On many Hamilton Beach models, press and hold the STOP/CLEAR or 0 key for 3–5 seconds until the LOC indicator disappears.
Consult your user manual for the exact lock/unlock key combination for your model.

If lock will not clear:

Unplug the microwave for 5 minutes, then plug it back in and try the unlock sequence again.
If the keypad remains locked or some keys do not respond, the membrane keypad or control board may be faulty and require replacement.
