Possible Causes

Loose or damaged communication harness, Faulty user interface PCB, Faulty main control PCB, Corroded connectors

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect from mains before removing the control panel.

  • Step 1 – Power cycle: Unplug for 10 minutes, reconnect, and check if F12 clears. If it reappears, proceed to wiring checks.
  • Step 2 – Inspect harness: Remove the control panel and locate the multi‑wire harness between the user interface board and the main PCB. Check for pinched, cut, or burnt wires.
  • Step 3 – Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the harness plugs at both ends several times to clean the contacts. Ensure they latch securely.
  • Step 4 – Check for moisture: Look for signs of steam or moisture damage around the control area. Dry gently if needed and improve ventilation around the oven.
  • Step 5 – Replace faulty board: If wiring is intact and F12 persists, replace the user interface board first. If the fault remains, the main control board may also need replacement.

Note: Always match replacement boards to the exact Indesit model and version.
