Failed turntable motor, Broken or worn turntable coupler, Damaged roller ring, Obstruction under the glass tray
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before accessing the underside or internal components.
- Step 1 – Check tray and ring: Remove the glass tray and roller ring. Clean them and the cavity floor. Inspect the ring for flat spots or broken rollers.
- Step 2 – Inspect coupler: Check the plastic coupler that fits onto the motor shaft. If cracked or stripped, replace it.
- Step 3 – Test motor operation (advanced): With the unit unplugged, remove the bottom cover to access the motor. Check wiring and measure motor resistance. Replace the motor if open circuit or seized.
- Step 4 – Reassemble and test: After replacing any faulty parts, reassemble and test with a light load to confirm smooth rotation.
Tip: Avoid overloading the turntable with very heavy dishes that can strain the motor.
