Possible Causes
Misaligned door hinges, Worn or broken door latch hooks, Deformed door frame, Faulty door sensing switch on latch board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before adjusting hinges or removing panels.
Steps:
- 1. Inspect door alignment: Check that the door sits squarely in the opening and that the gap around the door is even. If the door sags, gently lift it while closing to see if the E10 error clears.
- 2. Check latch hooks: Open the door and inspect the plastic latch hooks on the door edge. If they are cracked, bent, or loose, they may not fully engage the interlock switches.
- 3. Clean latch area: Remove any grease or food buildup around the latch openings in the cabinet that could prevent full engagement.
- 4. Hinge screws: Tighten any loose hinge screws (accessible from the side or behind the trim on some Logik models). Do not overtighten to the point of distorting the door frame.
- 5. Replace latch assembly: If the hooks are damaged, replace the door latch assembly with a Logik-compatible part. If the door sensing switch on the latch board is faulty, replace the switch or the entire latch board assembly.
Never attempt to bypass door safety switches; this is extremely dangerous and illegal in many regions.
