Possible Causes
Aging VFD tube (on VFD models), Failed display driver IC on the control PCB, Poor solder joints on display pins, Low-voltage supply instability
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before removing the control panel.
- 1. Check the brightness setting: Some OK models allow dimming the display. Verify it is set to normal or high.
- 2. Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes and reconnect to see if the display stabilizes.
- 3. Inspect the control PCB: Remove the panel and look for cracked solder joints on the display or driver IC.
- 4. Reflow solder (advanced): If you have soldering skills, reflow suspect joints. Otherwise, replace the control PCB.
- 5. If the VFD/LED itself is faded: Replace the entire control PCB or display module, depending on the design.
