Safety first: Unplug the microwave. Do not operate the unit without the cooling fan functioning correctly, as this can overheat the magnetron.

Step-by-step checks:

1. Listen for fan: During a short cook test, confirm whether the fan starts and stops as expected. If it never runs or runs constantly, note the behavior.
2. Access fan: Remove the outer cover to locate the cooling fan assembly near the magnetron and transformer.
3. Inspect blades: Check for obstructions (plastic, insulation, wiring) preventing rotation. Clear any debris.
4. Test motor: With the unit unplugged, spin the fan blades by hand. They should rotate freely. A stiff or seized motor must be replaced.
5. Check wiring: Ensure the fan motor connector is fully seated on the control board or relay harness.
6. If fan runs constantly: The fan relay on the control board may be stuck closed, requiring control board replacement.

Microwave shows E13 and fan runs continuously even when not cooking, or fan fails to run during cooking.
