How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before attempting to free a jammed door from inside the cabinet.

Step 1 – Try gentle release: Press the door release button or pull handle firmly but not violently. Do not pry with tools that can damage the door.
Step 2 – Access latch (qualified persons): Remove the outer cover and, if needed, the control panel to access the latch mechanism and release lever.
Step 3 – Manually release: Gently move the latch lever to release the door hooks. Inspect for broken plastic parts or springs.
Step 4 – Replace damaged parts: Install a new Thermador door latch assembly or release lever if cracked or worn.
Step 5 – Check alignment: Ensure the door closes and opens smoothly and that hinges are tight.

Note: Do not operate the microwave with a damaged door or latch; this is a safety hazard.

Microwave door will not open or is very difficult to open after cooking.
