Stuck Float Valve/Residual Pressure
The lid will not open after cooking; the float valve appears stuck in the up position even after cooling.

Possible Causes
Food residue around the float valve, Bent float valve pin, Residual pressure due to a blocked steam release path, Deformed silicone float valve cap
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not force the lid open. Forcing the lid under pressure can cause serious injury.
- 1. Wait and cool: Allow the cooker to sit unplugged for at least 30–45 minutes to ensure internal pressure drops.
- 2. Gently tap float valve: Using a wooden spoon, gently tap the float valve pin from the side to free any dried food.
- 3. Check steam release valve: Move the steam release valve to Venting to ensure it is not blocked. If no steam escapes, the pressure may already be gone and the float is just stuck.
- 4. After opening, clean components: Once the lid opens, remove and clean the float valve, silicone cap, and anti-block shield thoroughly.
- 5. Replace damaged parts: If the float pin is bent or the cap is deformed, replace them with Chefman-compatible parts.
