Stuck Float Valve / Residual Pressure
The lid will not open after cooking; the float valve appears stuck in the up position even after cooling.

Possible Causes
Food residue around the float valve, Bent float pin, Excess internal pressure due to a blocked release valve, Deformed float valve seal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Never force the lid open. Ensure the cooker is unplugged and allow extra time for cooling.
- Release residual pressure: Gently move the steam release valve to the venting position using a long utensil. If no steam escapes and the float remains up, wait an additional 15–20 minutes.
- Tap float valve: Using the handle of a spoon, gently tap the side of the float valve to dislodge any food particles.
- Clean after opening: Once the float drops and the lid opens, remove and thoroughly clean the float valve and its silicone cap.
- Inspect for damage: Replace the float valve or seal if it is bent or deformed.
If the float repeatedly sticks, replace the float valve assembly to ensure safe pressure release.
