The E5 error appears during pressure cooking; the unit may stop heating and release steam.

Possible Causes

Blocked steam release valve, blocked anti-block shield, sticking float valve, faulty pressure sensor calibration

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Do not attempt to open the lid while the cooker is under pressure. Allow it to depressurize naturally or via the steam release valve as per the manual.

Steps:

  • Depressurize safely: Turn the steam release valve to the venting position using a utensil to avoid steam burns. Wait until all steam is released and the float valve drops.
  • Clean steam path: Remove the steam release valve, float valve, and anti-block shield from the lid. Wash them in warm soapy water, removing any starch or food buildup. Ensure all small holes are clear.
  • Inspect sealing ring: Check the silicone sealing ring for deformation, cracks, or food stuck in the groove. A damaged ring can cause erratic pressure behavior; replace if needed.
  • Check float valve movement: Ensure the float valve moves freely up and down and is not jammed by dried food.
  • Test with water only: Reassemble and run a short pressure cycle with only water. If E5 recurs, the pressure sensor or control PCB may be misreading and require replacement.

Warning: Never block or modify the steam release valve. Overpressure can be dangerous.
