Possible Causes
Silicone sealing ring not installed or mis-seated, Steam release valve left in venting position, Float valve O-ring missing or damaged, Lid not fully locked
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure there is adequate liquid in the pot before attempting pressure cooking.
Steps:
- Open the lid and verify that the large silicone sealing ring is properly seated in the lid groove all the way around. Replace if stretched, cracked, or hardened.
- Check that the steam release valve is set to the sealing position as indicated in the Starfrit manual.
- Inspect the float valve pin and its small silicone O-ring. Clean any food residue and ensure the O-ring is intact and flexible.
- Close the lid and lock it firmly. Start a pressure program with at least the minimum required liquid.
- If P0 or low-pressure indication persists, inspect the lid for warping or damage and consider replacing the sealing ring and float valve set as a kit.
