Possible Causes

Damaged touch membrane, liquid spill causing a conductive path between keys, shorted keypad ribbon cable, failed keypad scanning circuit on the control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power before working on the control panel.

  • Clean the panel: If F1 appeared after a spill, gently clean the glass or plastic touch surface with a slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Do not allow liquid to run into the panel edges.
  • Power reset: Leave the oven unplugged for 10–15 minutes, then reconnect and test. Sometimes the error clears after drying and a reset.
  • Inspect keypad cable: Remove the control panel fascia and inspect the flat ribbon cable for kinks, cracks, or burn marks. Reseat both ends.
  • Check for visible damage: Look for delamination or bubbles in the touch membrane, which can indicate internal damage.
  • Replace keypad or control: If a specific key remains unresponsive or F1 persists, replace the touch keypad assembly or the entire front control module, depending on how Clatronic supplies the part.
