Possible Causes

Loose or damaged harness between UI and main control, Failed user interface board, Failed main control board, Corroded or oxidized connectors

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel or any covers.

  • Reset power: After a 5–10 minute power-off, restore power and observe if F6 returns immediately or only when using certain functions.
  • Access control area: Remove the control panel or upper trim to access the user interface (display board) and main control board.
  • Check harness connections: Locate the multi-pin harness between the UI and main control. Disconnect and reconnect each end several times to clean contacts. Ensure connectors are fully seated and not damaged.
  • Inspect for corrosion or moisture: Look for signs of moisture intrusion, especially if the error appeared after heavy cooking or cleaning. Allow components to dry completely if moisture is present.
  • Board replacement: If wiring is intact and reseating connectors does not resolve the issue, either the UI board or main control board is defective. Follow Dacor service documentation or a technician’s diagnosis to determine which board to replace.

Warning: Do not spray cleaners directly into the control panel; this can cause recurring communication errors.
