Possible Causes

Child lock function engaged, firmware glitch in lock logic, stuck lock key on the touch panel.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: No internal work is usually required for this error. Do not attempt to bypass safety features.

  • Disable child lock: Refer to the Essentials user manual. Commonly, press and hold the key symbol or a combination such as Stop and Plus for 3–5 seconds until the lock icon disappears.
  • Power reset: If the lock will not clear, turn off the oven at the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power and try the unlock sequence again.
  • Check for stuck key: If the lock key area is unresponsive, clean the touch panel and ensure nothing is pressing on it. If still stuck, the touch panel may need replacement.
  • Service if persistent: If E20 remains after these steps, the control board or keypad may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
