Oven control knobs are very stiff or difficult to turn

Safety first: Turn off power before removing knobs or control panel.

• Remove knobs: Pull the knobs straight off the shafts. Clean the knobs and surrounding panel with a mild cleaner to remove grease.
• Inspect shafts: Check for bent or corroded shafts. Lightly lubricate metal shafts with a small amount of high-temperature-safe lubricant, avoiding electrical contacts.
• Panel alignment: Ensure the control panel is not warped or pressing against the knobs. Loosen mounting screws, adjust, and retighten if necessary.
• Replace faulty controls: If a thermostat or selector switch shaft is damaged or seized, replace the entire control component.
• Refit knobs and test: Push knobs back on and verify smooth rotation.
