Possible Causes
Worn convection fan motor bearings, loose fan blade, foreign object contacting the fan, loose cooling fan mounting.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any covers or fan guards.
- Identify which fan: Listen to determine if the noise comes from the rear convection fan (inside cavity) or the top cooling fan.
- Check for obstructions: Remove the rear fan cover inside the cavity and clear any loose screws, foil, or debris contacting the fan blade.
- Tighten fan blade: Ensure the fan blade nut is tight on the motor shaft. Re-secure if loose.
- Motor bearing check: Spin the fan by hand. Roughness or play indicates worn bearings. Replace the affected fan motor assembly.
- Cooling fan mounts: From the top, tighten any loose mounting screws or brackets on the cooling fan.
