Possible Causes
Misaligned door latch, Faulty door switch, Broken wiring to the door lock assembly, Defective door status input on the control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before adjusting or removing the door or lock components.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and evenly. Look for bent hinges or obstructions on the oven frame. Adjust hinges if the door is sagging.
- Inspect latch and strike: Examine the metal latch on the door and the strike/receiver on the oven cabinet. Tighten loose screws and realign so the latch engages smoothly.
- Test door switch: Locate the door switch or door lock microswitch behind the front panel. With the connector removed, test its continuity while pressing the switch. Replace the switch or lock assembly if readings are inconsistent.
- Check wiring: Follow the wiring harness from the switch to the control board. Repair any broken or loose wires.
- Control board: If the switch and wiring are good but the control still reports the door as open, the input circuit on the PCB may be faulty, and the board should be replaced.
