Possible Causes

Shorted oven temperature sensor (RTD), Failed electronic oven control (EOC) board, Damaged sensor harness or connector, Relay on control board stuck closed

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing any panels. High voltage and high temperatures are present.

  • Power reset: Turn the range/oven breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then back ON. Try a short bake cycle. If F10 returns quickly, continue below.
  • Check oven temperature sensor (RTD):
    • Remove the rear access panel or open the oven door and locate the thin metal probe at the back wall (usually upper left or center).
    • Remove the two mounting screws and gently pull the sensor into the cavity to access the connector.
    • Unplug the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter at room temperature (~70°F/21°C). A good Frigidaire RTD should read about 1050–1100 Ω.
    • If reading is far off (open, shorted, or under ~900 Ω / over ~1300 Ω), replace the Oven Temperature Sensor (RTD).
  • Inspect wiring harness:
    • Check the sensor harness from the probe to the electronic oven control (EOC) for burnt, pinched, or broken wires.
    • Reseat connectors firmly on both the sensor and the control board.
  • Control board check:
    • If the sensor tests good and wiring is intact, the EOC may be misreading temperature or keeping the bake relay closed.
    • Remove the control panel, inspect the EOC for burnt spots or melted solder around the relays.
    • If damage is visible or F10 persists with a known-good sensor, replace the Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board.
