Possible Causes
Shorted heating element to chassis, Damaged wiring insulation touching metal, Moisture inside elements or wiring, Faulty mains filter or suppression capacitor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Disconnect power and investigate.
- Visual inspection: Remove rear and top covers. Look for burnt wires, melted insulation, or signs of arcing.
- Element insulation test: With all wires disconnected from elements, use a megohmmeter (if available) to test between each element terminal and chassis. Low resistance indicates a short; replace the element.
- Check mains filter: Inspect the EMI filter module near the terminal block for cracks or burns. Replace if damaged.
- Drying: If moisture is suspected (after cleaning or flooding), allow the oven to dry thoroughly for 24–48 hours before retesting.
