Oven overheats, may scorch food, and displays E02 or shuts down mid-cycle.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely. Overheating can damage internal wiring and insulation.
Inspection steps:
- Check that the oven vents (front trim, rear, and under the control panel) are not blocked by foil, panels, or cabinetry modifications.
- Inspect the temperature sensor inside the cavity for signs of damage, deformation, or burnt insulation.
- Remove and test the sensor with a multimeter; compare its resistance to the specification at room temperature and at a moderate heat (if you have a heat source and can test safely).
- If the sensor reads significantly out of specification or fluctuates when gently tapped, replace it.
- Inspect the cooling fan (if fitted) behind the control panel: spin the blades by hand with power off; they should move freely. If seized or noisy, replace the cooling fan motor.
- If the sensor and fan are good, the main control board may be misreading the temperature and require replacement.
After repair: Run the oven at 180°C and monitor temperature stability and error codes.
