Possible Causes
Burned-out oven light bulb, faulty oven door switch, failed light relay on EOC, corroded light socket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before replacing the bulb or socket.
- Replace bulb: Remove the glass light cover inside the oven, unscrew the bulb, and install a new oven-rated appliance bulb of the correct wattage.
- Test door switch: Locate the door switch (usually in the frame) and press it manually. If the light does not respond, test continuity with a multimeter and replace the oven door switch if faulty.
- Inspect socket: Check for corrosion or heat damage in the light socket. Replace the oven light socket if contacts are burnt.
- Control relay: If bulb, switch, and socket are good, the EOC light relay may have failed; replace the electronic oven control if necessary.
